Starfish

At beach school today we continued with our classroom book of the week ‘Cars Galore’ by Peter Stein.  After listening to the story we all wrote about the ‘pack it up and take a trip car’.  We made a list of the things we could see in the car.

We all worked together to dig a big car.  We used the steering wheel and collected stones and shells to use as the dashboard.  At snack time we ate our snack in our car!

In maths the Reception children practised their number bonds to ten, some of the nursery children recapped longer and shorter from their lessons this week and the other nursery children practised counting and recognising numbers.

Before we came back to school we had such a lot of fun with some guttering and cars.  We put the guttering in the sand dunes and put the cars down.  We investigated what made them go faster and what happened when we joined the guttering together.  We discovered that is some sand was in the guttering the cars wouldn’t move very fast and the steeper the slope on the sand dunes the faster the cars went.
