Worship by the Waves 09.05.25

This week in worship by the waves we thought about how we can be 'door openers' to others.  We heard the Bible passage about Jesus giving Peter an important job to do.  Jesus said that he would build his church and gave Peter the keys to heaven.  We looked at pictures of Peter holding keys and found out that it didn't mean that Jesus actually gave Peter keys to heaven it meant that Peter was given the task of 'opening the door' to God so that people could start to follow Jesus.

We remembered how Peter often got things wrong and made mistakes but these mistakes didn’t make Jesus think that Peter was unsuitable for an important role they helped Peter to learn how to be a better person.

We discussed that we all make mistakes but we need to use these situations to learn and move forward.  We then thought  about how we can be door-openers. We thought about how we could open the door to happiness for other people and what we could do  that would make someone’s day better?

We drew doors in the sand while we said a prayer.  We finished by singing 'Praise Ye the Lord'
