Another busy week over in a flash!

In maths, we have been counting the number of faces, vertices and edges on 3D shapes as we still find this a challenge.  We looked at strategies we could use to ensure all edges were counted only once.   We have also been making patterns with 2D and 3D shapes.  In English we looked at making our writing more exciting by using adjectives and describing noun phrases.  We also tried to use fronted adverbials.  We then wrote a recount of the story.

In science, we made our model houses making sure we followed the design brief; the houses needed to be waterproof and windproof.  We carefully selected materials that would ensure the brief was met after spending a few weeks testing different materials for their purpose.

We have also begun preparing for our class assembly, which is on Thursday 13th February.

STAR OF THE WEEK this week was JESSIE.  Jessie has been working hard to keep me organised and spends a lot of time tidying and sorting the classroom!  She has also been trying hard with her handwriting.

BIG MATHS promotions this week go to; FEDIR, EDWIN and ARCHIE.  Double promotion goes to EDIE!  What a week for promotions – Well done to you all on your hard work.

Have a lovely weekend.
