I can’t believe how quickly this week went.  It was only a short one with having an extra day off for the bank holiday.

This week, in English, we have been practising our comprehension skills.  We have also been doing some creative story writing.  We discussed some good story openers that sounded better than ‘once upon a time …’ before spending some time discussing the plot with our talk partners.  We then spent some time writing our stories.  We enjoyed sharing our stories with our friends during milk and fruit time.

In history this week we looked at the monarch’s coronation ceremony and observed what happens during it.  We then made our own crowns and acted out the ceremony.  We talked about the oath that the King took and compared it to when some of the children took the promise during Squirrels.

We shared our castles facts homework on Thursday in preparation for our trip to Alnwick Castle on Monday.

No star of the week this week due to the bank holiday but BIG MATHS promotion went to ANNA who got all of her Learn Its correct.  Well done.

Have a lovely weekend.
