In RWInc the Reception children have been learning the sounds nk, ng, ff and ll.  We have been practising reading and writing words using the sounds we know.  The nursery children have been focusing on sounds we can hear around the house.

In Music this week we have been exploring body sounds.  We made lots of sounds using different body parts and then watched a video.  We copied the people on the video and made the same sound they did.  In PE with Sam we played our ‘nippy lobster’ tag game and collecting cones game.  On Tuesday afternoon Mrs Brealey comes into Starfish class and this week we learnt about different body parts and made musical instruments.  The reception children wrote a description of what they had made.

Our RE question this week was ‘What makes us feel special?’.  We found out that Christians believe that children are special to God because of a story in the Bible where parents brought their children to[AP1]  meet Jesus but Jesus’s friends said that he was too busy to speak to the children.  Jesus told his friends to let the children come to see him.

Starfish star of the week was Tia.  She has done some brilliant writing using the sounds that she knows and using the correct formation– well done Tia!

Next week our story will be ‘Ten Little Superheroes’ by Mike Brownlow.
