Autumn 2 Week 3

After a great few weeks reading and unpicking the marvellous book Holes, we have moved to our next genre of writing - poetry, we are using the poem The Highwayman. The children began by using the images and making predictions about the characters, then they highlighted and explored the poem. We will be using this stimulus up until the Christmas break.

In Maths year 6s have been investigating division of three and four digit numbers with two digit numbers - with and without exchanging and year 5s have been finishing their addition and subtraction block.

We began our Geography topic exploring why populations change, using the world maps we investigated the different populations of different countries around the world.

On Friday we had two very fun opportunities, we took part in a protecting water workshop where the children made a pledge to protect the water. We also were lucky enough to have members from RAF Boulmer come and discuss road safety - a very important topic.

We are also continually working hard in rehearsals for the Christmas Play.
