This week began with the excitement of Newcastle winning the cup against Liverpool.

In English this week we have been writing down all the things we know about hummingbirds so far.  We then practised using question marks by thinking of some more things we wanted to find out.  On Tuesday we watched some videos about hummingbirds and made some notes – this was a new skill for us as we are so used to writing in full sentences that it was tricky to just write down one or two words.  Most of us tried really hard with this.  Then on Thursday we turned our notes into sentences.

In maths we were finding change.  We also did some role play of shops to practise adding up amounts and making sure we got the correct change.

During computing, we were learning how to add an image into our presentations and also learning how to resize the image.  This will make our presentations much more interesting.  With Sam, on Wednesday, we were learning how to balance more effectively as well as practising our attacking and defending skills.  We were celebrating our similarities and differences in PSHE and beginning to recognise ways in which we are both the same as and different from other people.

STAR OF THE WEEK this week went to PENNY.  Penny was being a good role model for others and following Embleton Expects.  We did a lot of paired work and Penny made sure everyone always had a partner. Well done Penny.

BIG MATHS PROMOTIONS this week went to WILLIAM, ELEN and ANNA and there was a DOUBLE promotion for FEDIR!  Well done everyone.

Have a lovely weekend.
