In RWInc the Reception children have been reading a ditty book and learning the sound ‘air’. The nursery children have been continued to identify different sounds and listening to the sound’s words start with. Our maths has been Christmas related this week. The Reception children have been practising number bonds to ten and the nursery children have been practising counting and number recognition.
This week we have been retelling the our story ‘Little Robin Red Vest’ and acting it out. We are able to remember lots of the story. In RE we have been learning about a Christingle ready for our Christingle service next week.
On Monday and Tuesday we played the parts of the animals in the stable in our whole school production on ‘The Landlord’s Cats’. We did a great job of going on the stage, dancing and playing our instruments. This week we have also been busy recording our own Starfish version of ‘The First Christmas’. What a fabulous job everybody did! Mrs Popay and Mrs Cotton were so proud.
We also wrote letters to Santa this week and had a walk to the post office to send them off. Thursday was our Christmas jumper and Christmas dinner day, we were all so colourful in our jumpers and Mandy cooked us a delicious dinner.
Our star of the week is Tia. She has been doing some brilliant writing using the sounds that she knows to spell words.
Next week we will be reading different versions of the story of ‘The First Christmas’.
