This week in Seal Class, we have been engaging in a variety of exciting subjects that have enhanced our learning experience. In Mathematics, we focused on the formal written methods of addition and subtraction, particularly with numbers that do not require carrying or exchanging.

In English, our studies took us into the world of poetry, where we explored the works of Valarie Bloom, particularly her collection titled Hot Like Fire. We analysed several poems, including "De Familiar Tings," "Sandwich," and "De Bread Van." Through this exploration, we discovered the rich imagery and cultural references that Bloom incorporates into her writing, enriching our appreciation for poetry as a whole.

In History lessons, we delved into the fascinating topic of Ancient Egypt, comparing its historical significance to other ancient civilisations on a timeline. This helped us to recognise the connections and differences between various cultures and their contributions to history.

Moreover, we concluded our electrical posters from last half-term and embarked on an exciting new project where we are designing and creating prototypes for slingshot cars.
