This week, in English we have been taking a closer look at the illustrations from our class text again.  We were looking at the other characters in the story and learning how to use speech bubbles.  We thought about what the other characters might be saying to Mini Rabbit as he heads out on his adventure to find the berries.  We also used adjectives to describe the settings he visited whilst out on his adventure.

In maths, the year 1s were looking at parts of numbers and the year 2s were adding 3 1 digit numbers together.  Some children could do this in their heads, whilst others needed to use resources to help them.

On Monday we had our weekly Sam PE session as well as doing some internet safety.  We watched an episode of Jessie and friends who taught us all about how to play games online safely.  On Tuesday we welcomed Thelma from the Blue Cross animal charity who talked to us about dog safety.  We encounter lots of dog walkers on the beach so this was a good opportunity to find out how to react safely for both us and the dogs.  We have also been carrying out an investigation in Design Technology.  We were investigating the stability of different shapes for when we come to design and make a new chair for Baby Bear.  We were investigating the stability of a cuboid, pyramid, cylinder and sphere.  It was safe to conclude that the least stable shape was the sphere where as the pyramid and the cuboid were joint winners in the investigation being the most stable.

We didn’t have any promotions in our Big Maths this week but there were 18!! 10/10 certificates so I don’t think it will be long before we have a few promotions.  Kepp up the hard work everyone!

My star of the week this week was LIAM D.  He spoke so confidently and clearly in our Harvest Festival – well done Liam!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
