5th July 2024

This week has been a busy week with us doing lots of assessments to see how much we have learned and to see where our gaps are.   Everyone tried their absolute best during their reading and maths tests, well done everyone.

We also had a quick visit to the Bailiffgate Museum.  We hitched a ride with the swimming bus into Alnwick.  At the museum we had a talk about what schools looked like in the past and compared them to our classroom today.  Then we went upstairs and looked at how toys, games and books have changed over time.  We heard how they have changed in terms of what they are made out of but also how similar they are to toys we might have now.  We got to hold and play with some of the old toys too.  The museum is full of interesting things, as well as being local, so it is definitely worth a trip back there with Mums and Dads as there was just too much for us to explore while we were there.

This week we have also been making our vehicles in Design Technology.  We first of all designed them then began making them out of junk modelling.  We added the wheels and axles using dowels we measured and cut ourselves then found the best ways to attached them to the chassis.  Finally we decorated them with windows, lights, doors and handles.  We were proud of our achievements and the skills we had used.

My Star of the week this week was LIAM because he showed great perseverance and determination during sports day!  Well done Liam.

We had promotions in Big Maths for EMILIE and ARTHUR.  Well done to you both.

Have a good weekend
