Autumn 1 Week 5

Another week full of learning in Orca Class. We started with Celebration Assembly - congratulations to Rory who was this week’s Star of the Week for settling in so well to Orca Class and for remembering to do what Embleton Expects. Also, congratulations to Ella who earned a ‘Moving Up’ certificate in Big Maths.

This week Orcas have had the opportunity to begin rehearsing for our class assembly which is based on our topic of Crime and Punishment, during our History lesson the children took a trip to the Early Modern Period of history, we investigated transportation to America, poaching and the dreaded highwaymen who would lurk on the roads!

In Holes the story is just thickening up! With Stanley still digging holes the children have reflected back on his journey so far and made comparisons to one of the subplots which we are already familiar with.

In Maths year 5 have continued investigating place value and have been comparing numbers up to 1,000,000 and year 6 have continued with their SAT practice and also using four operations - including the inverse operation.

I do hope you all have a great weekend!
