In RWInc the Reception children have continued to recap all the sounds learnt so far.  We have been reading some RWInc ditties and writing words and short phrases.  The nursery children have been focusing on sounds people make and listening and remembering different sounds.

In Music this week we have been listening to different siren sounds.    In PE with Sam we continued practising our tag games as well as throwing and catching.  Our poem this week was ‘Leaves are Falling’.  We had great fun throwing leaves up in the air this week!

We have had lots of real life superheroes visiting us this week.  On Monday we had visit from the police who told us what they do to keep us safe.  We also had a visit from some fire fighters who showed us what they wear to keep safe when they are rescuing people.  We were able to try on some of their special clothes.  We even got a chance to look at the fire engine.  On Wednesday we had visit from the RAF, they told us how they help keep us safe by tracking all the aeroplanes that fly in the sky.  On Thursday, our last special visitors were Andy and Stormy Stan from the RNLI.  They told us how they save people at sea.  They also told us how to stay safe in the water, by making a starfish shape.  We learnt about calling 999 in case of an emergency.

Starfish star of the week was George.  He has been our star baker this week making a cake every day!

Next term our theme will be ‘Heads and Tails’.  Our first book will be one of our favourites ‘Oi Frog’ by Kes Gray.
