This week in Seal Class, we have been continuing to focus on poetry and are starting to understand some of the ways poets can use imagery to help us have a picture in our heads.

In maths we have been focussing on adding and subtracting using 3 or more digit numbers, and remembering to put the number in the next column if we go over 9.

In history we have been exploring how the pyramids might have been built, thinking about how challenging it would have been to move the blocks without modern technology.  We talked about what evidence was available to help archaeologists come to their conclusions.

In science we have started to look at how to classify different things, and what classification means.

In French we reviewed days of the week and played bingo with numbers 0-12.  We are getting better at remembering the new vocabulary.

In PE the weather has meant that we have had to be inside, so we have been developing our teamwork and communication skills with NUFC, and focussing on suppleness and accuracy in yoga.

The snow meant that we had a break from the planned lessons on Wednesday, and played outside, making snowmen and generally having fun.  We all enjoyed coming in for hot chocolate afterwards!

On Friday we spent part of the morning doing a Surfers Against Sewage plastic pollution online workshop, where we focussed on water, its importance and its conservation.  We joined a giant online assembly, with speakers from the TV, and then completed some activities.  Then we had some staff from RAF Boulmer come to talk to us about Road Safety, and particularly about how to stay safe now that it is dark outside after school.  They gave us some reflective snapbands which we can take home to use when we are out in the dark.

This week our nativity rehearsals have started in earnest - we are all getting better at the singing, and now at least know when we are supposed to come on and off stage!

Finally, our Star of the Week was Emily B, for an amazing improvement in her handwriting now that she is joining.
